FEATURED ARTISAN: Dynamic Roots
August 23, 2015
Dynamic Roots creates synergistic herbal products with local, organic and Biodynamically grown herbs. Based in Carbondale and Nederland, Colorado, they craft herbal extracts, a skin care line, and medicinal teas with the seasonal needs of your family in mind. Never made with chemicals or harsh preservatives, Dynamic Roots products are sourced as much as possible from regionally abundant herbs and sustainable ingredients. Good for you and good for the planet!
By growing and sourcing as many of their ingredients as locally as possible, Dynamic Roots maintains a consistently potent and high quality product line that now includes herbal extracts, teas, and skin care. In 2014, they launched their Community Supported Herbalism program, offering a seasonal box of 5 or more appropriate herbal remedies that can be picked up locally in Carbondale or shipped nationwide. This program is the only CSH offered in the country that produces medicine for our high altitude climate, hence our tagline "High Altitude Alchemy".
Dawne Vrabel and Stephanie Syson co-founded Dynamic Roots in 2013. Founded in the beautiful Roaring Fork Valley on the Western Slope of the Rockies, they came together over their love of herbs and herbal healing. Dawne and Stephanie have both been hand crafting medicinal products for over 10 years. In 2015 Dynamic Roots took on a new partner, certified herbalist & medicinals grower, Kate Miller, and they expanded to a second base in Nederland, Colorado! These two home bases surround one of the most unique geographic bioregions for herbal medicine, and Dynamic Roots strives to educate and empower the public on the importance of sustainable herbal medicine by offering classes and workshops to the local community. Together the women of Dynamic Roots offer a well rounded look into the complete cycle of life from seed to skin and how the use of herbs can encourage vitality and strength within us all!
